The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has embarked on the Education4.0 (E4.0) revolutionary journey – an initiative to respond to rapid AI advancements and a changing educational landscape. Through E4.0, PolyU is transforming learning and teaching by integrating AI and smart technologies into a student-centred approach that fosters innovation, expands the use of educational technologies, and prepares students for the future.

The Institute for Higher Education Research and Development (IHERD) stands as the central hub for driving the education transformation at PolyU, bringing together a unique synergy of three teams, Digital Transformation Division (DTD),  Educational Development Centre (EDC) and Educational Research Centre (ERC). We are creating a vibrant research and development ecosystem that positions PolyU as a leading education innovator on the world stage.
