Biography
Dr. CUI Jingxian received her B.Eng. degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2015, M.Eng. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2018, and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2021, under the supervision of Professor TAM Hwa-Yaw. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at PolyU, where her research focused on developing specialty optical fibers.
Her research interests center on AI-assisted sensing and actuation networks using specialty optical fibers, with applications spanning healthcare, robotics, and renewable energy. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed papers in journals and international conferences, such as Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Journal of Lightwave Technology, Photonic Sensors. Her work on innovative fiber sensors for cochlear implants was awarded the Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury, and the Special Award (Thailand Award for the Best International Invention & Innovation), at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.
